Welcome to my first blog!

Hi there,

I am Luke Draper, An aspiring videographer/ editor in the making.

I am 22 years old (soon to be 23) and am currently studying a degree in Film Production at The SAE institute here in Oxford (UK)

Since I was a young boy I have always been mesmerised by photography, cameras, learning editing software and pretty much anything to do with being creative. From a young age I grew up watching FreddieW on YouTube which led to my love of VFX and filmmaking. While in school me and friends would make little videos here and there with me filming, editing and posting the videos, doing this led me to learn Software such as Sony Vegas Pro, Adobe After Effects, Premiere and so on. I then moved onto creating Call Of Duty montages and posting them on youtube at the age of Around 13, transferring some skills from the physical film scene onto the digital gaming scene, while doing this i created intros for myself and others using Cinema 4D which i still have a basic understanding of to date, although i am still very confident in my ability on the Adobe Suite due to still making and posting videos.

I have worked as a Fire and Security Engineer within the M.O.D Sector for the last 5 years, until due to unforeseen circumstances with COVID, I was let go. As terrible as this was at the time it has opened a door for me to progress my real passion here at SAE, which would not be changed for the world!

Currently I am studying this degree and hoping to move into either a steadicam operator role, or move into the editing side of film as I am very passionate about both, and wish I could do both as my career, but who knows, if I end up with my own business that could be an opportunity for me to undertake both aspects.
